Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Marothon mobile app and website (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Service

Marothon is a personal TV and movie tracking app that lets you log what you watch, build watchlists, and track your progress. We may add, change, or remove features over time.

Your account

• You must provide a valid email address and are responsible for keeping it accurate.
• You are responsible for activity that happens under your account and for keeping your access to your account secure.
• You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.

Acceptable use

When using the Service, you agree not to:

• Break the law or infringe anyone’s rights.
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems.
• Upload content — such as a profile photo — that is unlawful, infringing, or offensive, or that you do not have the right to use.
• Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe create risk or legal exposure for us or other users.

Your content

You retain ownership of the content you create in the Service, such as your watch history, lists, and any profile photo you upload. You grant us the limited license needed to store and display that content to you as part of operating the Service.

Catalog data and third parties

Catalog information such as titles, posters, and episode data is provided by The Movie Database (TMDB). This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. The Service also relies on third-party providers, including Supabase and Expo, to operate. Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers’ terms where applicable.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information. By using the Service, you also agree to the Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that catalog data will always be accurate or complete.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Marothon will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from the app’s Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. On termination, your data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
